On the edge..

This was taken whilst out with a very good friend of mine, he had wandered off elsewhere and I spotted this guy walking from the beach, saw the shot and just waited for him to get to where I wanted him.
I am often asked if I carry models with me when out and about or failing that do I have a supply of mannequins which accompany me on journeys out…
The answer is far less complicated, I love to people watch and will anticipate what folk will do, invariably they will do what I have anticipated they would hence being ready to get the image. I also have no issue taking photographs of complete strangers, I have never had anyone react in a negative way and so feel at ease when taking pictures. The ricoh scores for this style of picture taking because I suspect folk do not see it as they would a large dig slr, I am sure I look like a typical tourist, which in itself removes potential barriers, it’s just another reason why my love affair with this jewel will continue..
Having said all of that this was taken with the e620!

It can be the case that people do have an adverse ‘reaction’ to a large DSLR as opposed to a smaller camera which is probably why the smaller/compact ones are so good for street work. You’d think that a large format one might attract continued interest – Blackpool Beach @ http://we-english.co.uk/blog/?p=1864
